Sundev Update Corner!
April 27, 2025 at 7:49 AM
Hey everyone! Welcome to the Sundev Update Corner where I go over what I've been up to lately.
I've gotten a lot more structure in my weeks lately so I thought I'd try to incorporate weekly update blog posts into that as well. I'm also giving Ko-fi a try, and will post my blog updates there as well as Patreon from now on. And I'll be posting them here on this blog too. So we'll see how it goes.

So first up, Three Wishes
The game is coming along nicely. As you can see in the attached video, I've been refining the headpat events over the past couple of weeks. This current iteration I think will be used for the final headpat scenes for each of the girls and I'll design something simpler for the smaller events. I'd love to know what you think!
Here's my current dev schedule for this: I'm planning to have a demo (which included the prologue, and 1 entire route with 4 endings) in the upcoming Steam NextFest, and then I'm planning to release the game on August 20th! As you can imagine, this is where most of my time is going right now.
You can wishlist the game here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2692730/Three_Wishes/
Panini doko?
Good news about my Panini comic! I've finished all of the lineart for all of the pages! I've been doing one a week since January 2024 and in total I have ended up with 63 chapters. So far, I've only colored 18 of those, but I'll be working on them in the coming weeks/months. Ultimately, as was the goal from the start, I'd like to release this as a physical self-published book! So that goal is getting closer.
You can see all the colored chapters here: https://kyuppin.com/panini/
vTuber Kit status
I've not been working with vTuber kit much. I did some small code updates a couple weeks ago to switch over the Twitch API since they were phasing out the old API. However, I was left with some bugs, particularly one weird one with the UI that blocks mouse clicks when the program isn't in 16:9 ratio, and another where rotations of custom items are behaving extremely weirdly. I will need to take a look at those sometime soon. But vTuber Kit is not a priority right now.

New Merch!
Yippee, new merch! That's right, you can now own your very own enamel pins of Lilypad Lily, Panini, Panini's pet beaver, and the infamous Onionbug. They're all very nice high quality hard enamel and I have tons of then I will most likely never sell but I love them so much.

Where Does Patreon/Ko-fi Money Go?
Good question! Mostly to commissions and assets! I have a separate account for game dev that pools together patreon income, game sales, and merch sales. So I use the money in there when I commission people (along with my own money when I don't have enough). Recently I commissioned an amazing artist for a Three Wishes ending for around $320. And I also commissioned another artist for some smaller snapshots for use in Three Wishes at around $55 each.
As for assets, I do sometimes buy code assets for help with development. But I also like to buy sound effects, which I have bought for Three Wishes. I have a few magical girl/anime themed packs I got off Itchio for great prices. And if you watched the Three Wishes headpat video, you'll hear many sounds from those Magical Girl packs for the sparkles and twinkling of the stars.
Finally, I do want to do more 3D game dev in the future so I sometimes buy 3D model asset packs when they're on sale or featured in bundles. I recently bought a PSX style bundle of hundreds of models for only $60. 3D models are one of those things where if I can find a good deal on something I know I'd be able to use multiple times over, I like to jump on them; 3D modeling is so time consuming that being able to have a library to work with is super helpful.
Looking forward ->
So what's next? Well, as I said, Three Wishes is at the top of my list probably until the August release. I particularly have a ton of work to do for the demo, because not only do the demo routes need to be done, but I basically need a fully functional menu system and UI as well. So I hope to work more on that this coming week.
Thanks so much for the support, everyone! See you next week :D
